Westby Racing is proud to announce that Cody Wyman has joined the team and will compete in the 2020 MotoAmerica Junior Cup Championship.
Cody, who is 26, raced a partial season last year in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup Championship, and based on his solid results, Westby Racing signed him for the full 2020 season. While Wyman’s veteran teammate Mathew Scholtz will race the team’s iconic gold-and-black 2020 Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike in the MotoAmerica series, the New Yorker will compete aboard a similar-liveried gold-and-black 2020 Yamaha YZF-R3 in MotoAmerica’s entry-level class.
“I’m really excited to race my first full season in MotoAmerica,” Cody said. “I’ve never been able to run every round before, and I can’t think of a better team to do it with. Westby Racing is without a doubt one of the most respected teams in the paddock, and it’s a privilege to be part of their team. I appreciate everything they’ve done for me, and I can’t wait to ride and develop their 2020 Yamaha R3.”
Westby Racing team owner Tryg Westby commented, “We got to know Cody last year when he raced our Junior Cup bike in a couple of the East Coast rounds. We really liked what we saw in him. Chemistry between rider and team is very important to us at Westby Racing, and we’re excited to officially welcome Cody to our team. With him in the saddle, we’re hoping for the same success in Junior Cup that we’ve enjoyed with Mathew in Superbike.”
